The Richland Property Services Directory is unique. Every tradesman or business has been recommended because in the opinion of those who have made the recommendations they can be relied upon to carry out their work properly, professionally and politely. This idea began as a result of my personal need for a plasterer and a bricklayer. Talking to friends I discovered they all had the same problem. I sent the e-mail on the right to several personal friends and associates.

Maybe, like me, you have experienced difficulties finding good tradesmen to carry out property repairs and remedial work at home? In recent months I have found myself asking colleagues, friends, and business associates if they have an electrician, plumber, bricklayer, plasterer, window cleaner, etc etc. Usually someone knows someone who can help but there is clearly a shortage of good quality tradesmen.

Since I have the means of electronically sharing this information with others, it has crossed my mind that if I compile a list of recommendations from people like yourself, then it would be very useful for them - and it would help the tradespeople to get more work. Everyone would win.

So if you have a recommendation (or several), please share it with me and I will share it with others. Everyone who responds will get the complete list once its finished.

The response was overwhelming. Comments such as "I always have this problem" and "I'm sure everyone relies on word of mouth" and "look forward to receiving a copy of the list of tradesmen when complete" and "Cracking idea!" were all followed by a list of recommendations that have been included in the directory. The list, as it stands so far has been sent to those who responded.

A couple of people suggested that the list could be a used to create a web site. This fitted in with an idea I have been nurturing for a few years, the sort of nice idea that you never get round to. The fact that you are reading this is testimony to the fact that I have done something about it.

My hope is that you will find this directory helpful. Given the trend towards litigation to resolve disputes, you will understand the need for our disclaimer BUT those who have supplied the names have had work carried out by those they have recommended.
