Britain's Best Breaks

Montage of scenes from Newquay Britain's Best Breaks is a dedicated half-hour travel programme that puts the spotlight on destinations right here in the UK. Now entering its fourth series the show continues to develop and showcases the very best that Britain has to offer.

History

The first episode of Britain's Best Breaks featured Newquay and was broadcast in 2003 on the Sky Digital Network. The Newquay show proved to be such a huge success, that a further 42 destinations around the UK have now featured in Britain's Best Breaks.

The Britain's Best Breaks brand has successfully combined the media power of TV and the internet to help promote tourism within Great Britain to a huge market. Back in 2003 when the Newquay show was first broadcast the Britain's Best Breaks website had around 1,500 unique visitors and was receiving around 10,000 hits a month. In July 2006 alone the Britain's Best Breaks website had 52,000 unique visitors and achieved in excess of 694,000 hits.

Britain's Best Breaks has been going from strength to strength over the past two and a half years and has now developed a relationship with VisitBritain. In January 2006 VisitBritain added Britain's Best Breaks footage to their website in order to help them in achieving their goals.
